Over the last twenty years, E.M. Harris Construction Company (E.M. Harris) has successfully completed over 150 projects, with costs ranging from $2 million to $30 million.  Our projects have included new multi-family developments, senior living facilities, office buildings, commercial spaces, historic building renovations, churches and an industrial park.  We currently specialize in apartment renovations, historic rehab, new multi-family construction and green retrofit / reconstruction.

Harris has established a flawless record of on-time, on-budget performance on a wide variety of challenging and innovative projects.  We have earned an outstanding reputation for professionalism and collaboration with owners and architects to achieve design, budget, schedule, diversity, marketability and sustainability goals.

Our sister company, Capital Consultants, Inc., also owned by Mike Harris, provides construction-related consulting services, including property inspections for lenders and owners, project and finance planning, design and construction documentation, construction management, asset management, contract administration and value engineering.

Leadership in Diversity

E.M. Harris strives for very high minority (MBE) and women-owned (WBE) business participation on all projects, and our percentages are often much higher than the goals established by our clients or financing agencies. We maintain strong relationships with dozens of MBE/WBE companies in the St. Louis area. We are also a Section 3 certified business.

Our exemplary efforts to facilitate diversity and inclusion have earned us recognition from the City of St. Louis and the Missouri Senate. We also received the 2011 General Contractor of the year award from MOKAN, a non-profit organization which advocates the inclusion of MBE/WBE businesses on St. Louis area construction projects.
