Overhaul of 19 historic buildings preserves 65 affordable apartment units in South St. Louis.

Located in St. Louis’ historic Fox Park and Benton Park neighborhoods, the DeSales Preservation project involved the renovation of 19 historic buildings, comprising 65 apartment units. Financed using low-income housing tax credits and private financing, the renovation included significant masonry restoration, all new mechanical systems, electrical and plumbing upgrades, new roofs, new historic windows, and all new finishes. The development also included a sitework package, consisting of some new utilities, sidewalks, parking areas, fencing, and landscaping.
